Tour Descriptions

1. Gardening for Mind-Body Wellness - as this homeowner believes edible gardens are one of the healthiest activities you can choose. They provide great physical movement and relaxing time outdoors enjoying nature, with the bonus of healthy organic food.

2. Japanese Zen meets Animal Crossing - this garden attracts many pollinators as well as wildlife. The homeowner has devised gardening methods of keeping the family happy and three boisterous golden retrievers. The property is surrounded by large trees providing shadey areas and containers with vegetables on the sunny front porch.

3. Fairies, chickens and family  - This garden is loaded with character, family history and unusual plantings. There is evidence in the garden of the prohibition days and a 99 yr old Boston fern. The homeowner created a habitat for three fairies but soon family and friends were adding to what is now large population!

4. A few flowers shy of a full flat - this garden has an abundant variety of shrubs, flowering plants and therefore a kaleiscope of color. The back garden has a saltwater lagoon pool and a pergola for the family to thoroughly enjoy outdoor living. The home owner has an affinity for tulips and her spring garden displayed 600 bulbs!

5. Impressionist Garden -the back garden has no lawn but rather crushed granite pathways meandering through beds filled with seasonal flowers and vegetables. The walk allows the viewer  to focus on motion and the whole experience of colors, textures and fragrances. On the other hand one can stop and focus on individual plants being reminded of an English cottage garden.
