Tour Descriptions

1. From First House to Forever Home. The homeowners have been living here for 47years. The garden began with trampolines and soccer goals and it has evolved into a festive and colorful landscape. The garden is equally divided between sun and shade. The sunny area is perfect for a Butterfly garden.

2. Inspired by Family....Seasons of Life - This garden is filled with colorful perennials. The front area has specific seasonal areas for each child's birthday. And with careful planning the view from each window of the home offers something visually attractive and meaningful. Look out for the Hugelkultur bed and state of the art compost bins.

3. A Generational Garden - This garden is brimming with a variety of plants and so attracts many pollinators.  There are several hypertufa containers made by the home owner's daughter and hydrangeas from the homeowners grandmother's garden. The love of gardening has been and is being passed down the generations.

4. Landscape for Leisurely Living - This homeowner has been tending to her garden for 35years and has created a fabulous shady sanctuary. There are colorful tropical plants which are overwintered in a greenhouse. Note the fig tree that was brought from Greece and produces the most delicious figs. Information will be available on Toxic and Poisonous plants.

5. Ornamental Beauty and Intentional Gardening - The front has a variety of Oklahoma Native plants all shaded by towering trees. The back has a pollinator area and there is a spectacular vegetable garden which includes timed watering and in ground composting. The vegetables are grown with intentional plant combinations. This method incorporates natural pest management for his vegetables.
